Jeff was born in Boston and raised during the Great Depression. As a young child he endured years of physical abuse combined with challenging economic conditions his health was constantly under stress. During his elementary and junior high school years Jeff withstood extensive bullying brought on by his frailty.

By age twelve Jeff was interested in natural science, especially the weather. In high school he excelled in

mathematics and physics, which led to his acceptance to MIT’s meteorology program. Upon graduation he was commissioned Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force. After overseas assignments in North Africa and Italy he returned to M.I.T. for his M.S. degree.

He worked at Avco Corp. (now Textron defense systems) as a senior scientist. He published numerous peer-reviewed articles on ionospheric physics. Then for four years he was a research scientist specializing in numerical modeling of atmospheric systems at Air Force Cambridge Research Laboratories.

At Lowell University he was awarded a prestigious National Science Foundation Science Faculty Fellowship to enroll in the PhD program at Pennsylvania State University.  In 1973 he joined Utah State University as a Research Professor at the Utah Water Research Laboratory where he published many articles in scientific journals.

Upon retirement, Jeff changed his focus to world affairs, which had been a strong interest ever since the start of WWII. His first project resulted in the book about Japan at war and its legacies. He is currently writing a second book about the many political divisions in America.

Jeff has been married for over fifty years and has two daughters and a granddaughter.
